Rabbits are friendly and intelligent animals and make good pets. You should only keep one as a pet if you are sure that you can look after them carefully and considerately.

Like all animals rabbits need daily care and company but unlike some smaller pet animals they can live for a long time. Some rabbits can live for as long as 12 years - so be absolutely sure that you can look after them for that long.
