Animal technologists are responsible for the care and welfare of animals used in bio-medical research. Trainee animal technologists learn how to keep animals healthy, clean and happy. They feed them and learn how to handle them properly and also learn how to carry out experimental techniques.

Animal technologists have to be quite fit and wear protective clothing and be in the animal facilities most of the day. It can sometimes be hot, tiring, smelly and routine but it is also very rewarding.

If you think you would like to work with animals when you leave school, why not consider a career as an animal techncian.
